What's New in Bots: Oct 27, 2026

OpenAI shipped a cheaper workday model, Anthropic opened a waitlist for its proactive agent, and Cursor turned agents into code, so here is what is new in bots.
OpenAI: GPT-6.1 Terra
OpenAI introduced GPT-6.1 Terra, a fast model built for computer use, visual reasoning and writing. API prices are 50% lower than GPT-5.6 Terra ($1 per million input tokens, $5 per million output). It is in ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users. On Oct 26 it also went live in GitHub Copilot and on Amazon Bedrock. If you run long-running tasks, this is the one to test first.
Claude: Claude Duet
Anthropic's newest consumer agent is Claude Duet, a research preview where Claude comes to you with what needs attention and checks with you before it acts. It is waitlist only, starting with US Pro and Max subscribers, on iOS, Android and claude.ai. Anthropic also expanded Claude for Nonprofits on Oct 26.
Cursor: Agent SDK
Cursor made its Agent SDK generally available: an agent is a folder of Markdown prompts and TypeScript tools, with built-in evals. Good timing if you are setting up team bots and want them in code review.
Dots and Muse
OpenAI's always-on assistant dots runs in ChatGPT for Pro tier and up (plans from $100 a month), per TechCrunch. Meta's Muse has passed ten million users, per Forbes.
Grok Bot
Grok Bot added Pages for reports and dashboards, phone access to Calendar, Reminders and Contacts, and prerelease builds that can make calls, per Last Week in AI Agents.
Quick Facts
- Cheapest new frontier option this week: GPT-6.1 Terra.
- Waitlist: Claude Duet (US Pro and Max).
- Compare them yourself with a bot vs bot bake-off, or browse the directory.
See you tomorrow.
